YouTube: Alain Caron - D-Code (Live)

Another awesome live song by Alain Caron. And the dark, punchy tone has an addictive deepness. The groove is a little more straightforward than Slam The Clown, but I still find his brilliant slap solo quite fabulous. The bass chords (I think) and double stops play with the driving melody nicely.

If you've been listening to Alain Caron with anything less than a subwoofer or proper headphones, I demand you plug them in right now. There's no point listening to Caron without either! :D

YouTube: Alain Caron - Slam The Clown (Live)

The grooviness of Alain Caron piece is atrociously awesome, leaving you hungry for more. Caron's virtuosity really comes to the fore here. While his solo beginning at 4:27 is not exactly the clearest of his slap solos, it still is nonetheless clear, steady and impossibly groovy, invoking the inner inferiority complex in all of us bassists. The Rhodes piano solo before that also pulls off some rather slick and smooth chops, and do note the vibrasynth player down by the right of the stage. I'll eventually post a video with him doing a solo.

Just can't get enough...

Alain Caron FTW!
